Parking Enforcement and Fines
Failure to abide by outlined parking rules may result in a parking ticket, tow, and/or cancellation of parking privileges.
When a vehicle is involved in an infraction the owner/operator will be issued a fine in the form of a parking ticket. Unauthorized parking in signed areas (ie. speciality parking spots – Dental Clinic, 30 Minute Parking etc.) will be subject to a parking ticket.
Examples of additional parking infractions may include, but are not limited to:
- Not paying for parking during enforced hours;
- Paying for parking but incorrect license plate;
- Parking in a prohibited zone (e.g. fire routes, hatched marked areas, etc.)
- Parking in an accessible parking space without an Ontario Ministry of Transportation accessibility parking permit prominently displayed;
- Parking in a different area than the one selected when a parking session was purchased;
- Non-electric vehicles parked in an electric vehicle charging space;
- Vehicles parked in an electric vehicle charging space and are not charging the vehicle; and,
- Cars that are triple parked.
Parking on-campus is bylaw enforced from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Fire lanes and accessible parking is enforced 24/7. Bylaw Officers patrol lots daily.
Parking tickets are issued by a Municipal Bylaw Officer – not Niagara College.
The issuing Municipality of the parking ticket has control of the final decision regarding parking ticket appeals, including any court appearance, payment or cancellation process.
