Emergency Procedures Training
New Emergency Training Modules
While Niagara College is inherently safe, we acknowledge the unpredictability of emergencies, which can occur anywhere and at any time, including on our premises. In line with our steadfast dedication to safety, we continuously refine and enhance our emergency procedures. To empower our community with the knowledge and readiness needed in emergency situations, we are proud to introduce 5 new online training modules designed to equip the necessary skills and protocols to keep Niagara College safe.
We want Niagara College to continue to be a safe learning environment for all of our students. We hope you will take the time to learn about what you should do in an emergency.
Ongoing Initiatives to Keep Niagara College Safe
Safe Areas
Safe Area signage are located in many stairwells on our campuses. These areas were designated by the local Fire Department as the safest places in the building for those who are unable to evacuate safely on their own because of the fire doors, ventilation system, large landing areas for people to wait on, and quick access to outside.
Signage
Across campuses, you will find posters, signage and other materials in entrances, classrooms, labs, office spaces, cafeterias and washrooms that detail our emergency procedures.
NC Security Teams
Campus Safety and Security teams are on campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support the college community in the event of an emergency and have continual communication with local emergency services. In an emergency or if you need help, call 911 and the Security Control Centre at 905-735-2111 x. 6999.
NC Mobile Safety App
Being prepared for an emergency is a responsibility we all share. Every NC student should have the free, NC Mobile Safety App on their phone. The app gives you quick access to Campus Safety, the Work Alone and Safe Walk programs, FriendWalk service (with real-time tracking), emergency toolbox, campus maps and more.
