IMPORTANT: If you are an international student, you will meet with an International Student Advisor (ISA) instead of an Academic Advisor for your academic and transition needs.

International Student Advisors (ISAs)

International Student Advisors support Niagara College’s international students throughout their entire student journey – from arrival in Canada to graduation. ISAs use an integrated advising model that includes academic guidance, immigration advising, and transition support to help students succeed both in their studies and in Canada.

ISAs can:

  • Help you understand your academic program plan, graduation requirements, and how academic decisions may affect your immigration status
  • Support your adjustment to the Canadian academic environment, expectations, and classroom culture
  • Assist you in navigating academic or personal challenges that may impact your studies or immigration standing
  • Educate you on Canadian immigration regulations and temporary policies
  • Provide guidance on immigration applications and documents for yourself and eligible family members
  • Clarify work eligibility rules and how your academic progress connects to future immigration pathways
