Your Rights & Responsibilities
Academic Rights and Responsibilities Policy
All students are expected to act responsibly and uphold standards of conduct that form the basis for good citizenship which includes civility, responsibility and respect. Your academic rights and responsibilities as an NC student are outlined in this policy. Take some time to read it and become familiar with this important document.
Student Code of Conduct
The Student Code of Conduct provides a framework to resolve incidents of non-academic student misconduct and an understanding of the rights, responsibilities, and standards of conduct expected of all students at Niagara College.
The Student Rights and Responsibilities Office (SRRO) manages reports of non-academic student misconduct and supports accountability, and the informal resolution of issues where possible. We have a shared responsibility as a campus community to foster a safe, respectful and welcoming learning, working, and living environment. Incidents of non-academic misconduct are resolved through the fair processes outlined in the Student Code of Conduct policy and procedure.
The SRRO also provides several resources to support students, including information about the Consent is Key campaign to combat sexual and gender-based violence, and a detailed set of Netiquette Tips for Online Classrooms.
