Health Services
Health Services strives to provide the best health care for students, and to promote awareness on a variety of health topics throughout the year. Maintaining optimal health is an important factor that can positively contribute to student success.
Some of our services include:
- Primary health care – For students unable to access their family doctor or primary health care supports.
- Physician clinics (appointment required)
- Episodic illness care
- Sexual health – Birth control; sexually transmitted infection (STI) information, testing and treatment; and pregnancy testing. If you are looking for resources about sexual assault, including how to report a sexual assault, please visit niagaracollege.ca/consentiskey/.
- Health resources – Information or hand-outs pertaining to any health questions.
- Community referrals – Health-related agencies outside of the college.
- CDS clearances including TB testing and immunization.

Appointments
Making your appointment
Appointments are available with a physician. When making an appointment you will be asked for:
- Your student number
- Your telephone number
- Your valid health card (Canadian students) or Student Guard card (International students)
- A reason for your visit
Attending your appointment
For your first appointment you will be asked to fill out a form when you arrive.
- Unless otherwise indicated, please arrive for your appointment ten minutes early.
- You must check in with reception.
- Canadian students must bring a valid health card and student IDto each appointment. Students do not need to bring their SAC Health Plan Card with them.
- International students must bring a valid Student Guard card and student ID to each appointment. International students will need to fill in additional forms at each visit to the clinic.
Cancel an appointment:
To cancel an appointment please call us and leave a message (24/7) at 905-735-2211 ext. 7778 (Welland) or 905-641-2252 ext. 4409 (NOTL), or email [email protected]. Cancellations must be 24 hours in advance or a fee may apply.
Important: There is a fee for missed Health Services appointments, and appointments cancelled less than 24 hours in advance – see: Health Services Missed and Cancelled Appointments Policy.
Health Services requires 24 hours notice for cancellations.
Missed physician appointments or physician appointments cancelled without 24 hours notice will result in a no-show/late cancellation fee being charged. The fee is determined by the type of appointment that was booked ($25 – $50).
Students who arrive late for an appointment may also be charged for a missed appointment.

*Please note: Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services only stores person health information for a period of ten years. All documents held by Niagara College will be destroyed after a period of ten years.
