Global Crisis Supports for Students

We live in a time when global crises, issues and events, including war, political unrest, humanitarian emergencies and natural disasters, can affect our sense of safety and well-being. You may feel worried, overwhelmed, anxious or disconnected, particularly if you have family, friends or loved ones in affected areas. You may also find it difficult to focus on your studies or manage day-to-day responsibilities.

We’re here for you. Niagara College offers resources to help students navigate difficult circumstances and access support. You do not have to be directly affected by a crisis to reach out for help.

Counselling Support

If a global event is affecting your mental health, well-being or academic experience, Niagara College’s Counselling Services offers free and confidential support. Counsellors can help you manage stress, anxiety, uncertainty and other concerns, and explore strategies to support your well-being.

Specialized supports and resources are also available for Indigenous and racialized students who may be experiencing additional impacts related to global events, discrimination, racism or concerns affecting their communities.

Visit Student Health and Counselling Services to learn more about available services and supports.
