March marks National Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Month, and Niagara College’s Career and Co-op Services team is once again celebrating with a full lineup of events and supports designed to help students build confidence and career-ready skills.

Led nationally by Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL), WIL Month shines a spotlight on the value of experiential learning opportunities that connect classroom knowledge with real-world experience. Events and programming are open to all Niagara College students.

Supporting students at every stage

Throughout March, students can take advantage of a variety of workshops and hands-on supports aimed at preparing them for co-op work terms, part-time work, summer and post-graduation employment.

Events and services include:

  • Interview preparation workshops to help students feel confident and articulate their strengths.
  • Networking sessions focused on building meaningful professional connections.
  • Employer panels offering industry insights and direct access to hiring professionals.
  • Resume clinics with personalized feedback from Career Services staff.
  • Co-op preparation classes to guide students through expectations and success strategies.
  • Professional headshots, offered in collaboration with Student Engagement, to help students elevate their personal brand.
  • LinkedIn profile reviews to ensure students are presenting themselves effectively online.

These initiatives are designed not only to support students actively seeking co-op work terms but also to empower anyone looking to strengthen their employability skills.

Career Services Open House – March 25

A highlight of WIL Month will be the Career Services Open House on Wednesday, March 25, hosted at both campuses:

  • Welland Campus – Room SE101, Academic Advising & Career Services
  • Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake – Room W115, Academic Advising & Career Services

Students, as well as NC staff and faculty, are invited to drop in, meet the team, and learn more about the wide range of services available year-round. Whether exploring career options, preparing for co-op, or polishing a resume, attendees can discover how Career Services supports student success from college to career.

Event details and updates will be posted on NC Engage and the MyCareer portal, where students can also browse job postings, register for workshops, and book appointments with Career Consultants.
