Sound Meditation – Deep Listening and Restorative Rest
October 26 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Join us for a session of deep listening and relaxation.
Participants will be bathed in a soothing soundscape created by instruments to help the body enter a parasympathetic state (rest & digest). Instruments include crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes. Take an hour to pause, receive, and rest.
Session details:
- The session will begin with a brief overview of what sound meditation is, its benefits, and the importance of building stress resiliency.
- Participants will then be asked to find a comfortable position before being guided through a short, guided meditation followed by a soothing soundscape that will last the majority of the session. At the end of the soundscape, participants will be guided back to a wakeful state.
- The session will end with some light stretching and breath work to ground the group before leaving.
Registration details:
- This event will take place on Oct. 26 in room N018 at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus (NOTL).
