Niagara College is launching a new speaker series to support students as they navigate academic life, personal growth and their transition into the next phase of their careers as they near the end of their NC journey. The series will feature engaging conversations with guest speakers who bring real-world insight into leadership, resilience and professional development.
The series kicks off on Tuesday, January 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in The Core, hosted by Vice President, Students Dr. Chris McGrath. The event is open to all students and will include free refreshments, a Q&A session and an opportunity to connect during a post-talk meet and greet.
Remaining Hopeful When the World’s on Fire
In the first session, Remaining Hopeful When the World’s on Fire, Dr. McGrath will speak with students about hope, not as blind optimism, but as a grounded, practical mindset. With many students facing academic pressure, financial stress and uncertainty about the future, the session invites participants to pause, reflect and explore what hope looks like in real life. Dr. McGrath will also share personal stories and reflections aimed at encouraging resilience and perspective as students move forward in their academic and professional journeys.
