At the start of each new year, it’s a great opportunity to create space for reflection. This intentional practice enables us to pause and consider the ways we have shown up, learning we want to prioritize and areas we can improve. Questions you may consider are: how have I built relationships? How have I incorporated sustainability to support my capacity? Where do I need to take a break? What are my opportunities for growth and learning?
Reflection helps us focus on learning, on growing, on creating and supports us in identifying and letting go of places where we may be stuck.
Part of enhancing our understanding of equity and inclusion is to engage in introspection, unlearning, relearning, and learning, and embracing new ways of knowing, being and doing.
We have provided prompts and questions below focused on equity, inclusion, and connection so we can reflect on how we will continue our learning individually and in community.
Questions for writing and reflections:
- What does equity and inclusion mean to you–not just as a value, but as a daily practice?
- What tools or support do you need to incorporate/continue to incorporate equity and inclusion as a daily practice?
- Where may you be getting stuck and why (i.e., is this due to lack of capacity, exhaustion, fear, judgment, etc.)?
- How do/can your daily practices support building relationships and community?
- How might you create deeper solidarity and connection with equity-denied communities?
We hope that these questions ignite inspiration and insight!
