How does Niagara College support Indigenous students?
Niagara College is committed to ensuring that Indigenous students and employees have an excellent learning experience while at the college, one that is built on respect, support, and celebration of Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing. To do this, the college relies on the expertise of the Indigenous Education Department and the Indigenous Education Management Circle.
Does Niagara College offer any equity-related academic courses?
Many of the programs and courses offered at Niagara College include some content and applied learning related to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. For example, Niagara College has several academic programs with applied learning related to equity, diversity, and inclusion. These include programs in the following areas: School of Community Studies’ Social Service Worker; General Arts and Science’s Enhanced Language Training for Employment; School of Academic and Liberal Studies’ Sociology courses. Staff are also eligible to take these courses for $20 through the Employee Tuition Subsidies and Assistance Program.

If you are a student and have witnessed a racist, homophobic, sexist, ableist or otherwise discriminatory incident on campus, please follow college processes for reporting hate and/or racism on campus and information related to accessing support.
How does Niagara College use applicant and student data collected through OCAS?
Niagara college is committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). During the application process, an applicant may voluntarily choose to answer questions in this regard. By collecting equity data, the college can understand the composition of its applicant pool across various equity-based metrics to identify areas of underrepresentation. This data may be used to ensure fair and equitable admissions processes, advise students of programs and services available, notify applicants of potential scholarships and bursaries, and other similar initiatives to support applicants & students. How can I access the gym at the Welland Campus from the second floor?
Please note that the door on the second floor of the gym is locked. If you require access to the gym via the elevator, kindly email Mike Hurley, Facilities Coordinator to arrange for the door to be unlocked.
