A message from Gordana Vitez, Manager, Library and Learning Commons:
It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Jaclyn (Jackie) Chambers Page, Library Facilitator Information Literacy, will be leaving the Niagara College community for an opportunity with Dalhousie University (Truro, Nova Scotia) as Copyright Librarian.
Over the past 12 years, anyone who has had the pleasure to work with Jackie knows that she tackles projects with a creative outlook and an incredible sense of humour. I cannot think of any task put before her where she did not say “why not?” The LLC often rings with her laughter and we will miss hearing her say “oh, well!” when something did not go quite right. And that is the thing: Jackie always works so hard to get it right. She is determined, passionate and creative, and NC has only been made better by her spirit to support students and faculty. Some of her finest contributions include: the Exploratory, mentoring CICE placement students, copyright, OER development and support, information literacy Escape Room series, Halloween extravaganzas, and so much more. All this “fantasticness” was recognized when Jackie was selected as the Support Staff recipient of the Awards of Excellence in 2019.
Please join me in congratulating Jackie on her new adventure out east! Jackie will be at the Library and Learning Commons at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake until her last day on Friday, July 8 at 3:30 p.m. Drop by before then as by 3:32 p.m., her truck will likely be squealing out of the parking lot and into her next adventure!
