NC’s Director of Athletics & Student Engagement Michele O’Keefe was included in a May 25 article in the three Niagara Dailies. The article highlights a $650,000 grant from the Niagara Community Foundation’s David S. Howes Fund that will equip a new high-performance training centre inside the Walker Sports and Abilities Centre at Canada Games Park for Niagara’s next generation of athletes to use once the Niagara 2022 Games are complete.

In the article, O’Keefe, who is a Board Member and Chair of the Legacy Committee with the Niagara 2022 Games, comments: “Having the Canada Games in Niagara will inspire that next generation of athletes. That’s what I’m trying to make sure people understand. It will get all of us moving and our volunteers volunteering for sport. Having the Games here in Niagara provides a platform for youth who want to be athletes … and this investment by the David S. Howes Foundation creates the light that will spark that to keep going.”
