NC’s President Emeritus Dan Patterson is featured in a May 29 article in the three Niagara Dailies about the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) St. Catharines’ 2022 House and Garden Tour.
Patterson’s home gardens will be featured as part of this year’s event, which raises funds for post-secondary scholarships and bursaries, some of which support NC students.
In the article, Patterson mentions how the gardens were cared for by his late wife Saundra, and that since her passing he has found solace in tending to them on his own. He comments: “I don’t know much about gardening. I’m learning on the go. Saundra did all of this. I find it very soothing and it’s therapeutic for me and it’s helped me in the grieving process. Gardens are just amazing places if you really get into it.”
