A message from Lianne Gagnon, Director, Student Services:
I am delighted to welcome our new Associate Director of Indigenous Education, Leah Hogan, to our Niagara College community. Leah joins us from Mohawk College where she has worked in post-secondary for over 15 years. During that time, Leah has supported Indigenous students through the student services continuum, partnered with Indigenous communities and organizations, including Six Nations Polytechnic, and led the implementation of Indigenous knowledge learning outcomes (IKLO) at Mohawk College. Leah has been actively advocating for Indigenous students throughout the course of her career to provide a rewarding experience where students see themselves reflected and celebrated in all aspects of their academic journey.
Leah is a proud member of the Oneida Nation of the Thames (Bear Clan). She possesses a Master of Education degree from Queen’s University with an Indigenous Education specialty and is currently working on her PhD at the University of Toronto specializing in Indigenous education
Leah will commence her position on June 13. Please join me in giving her a warm Niagara College welcome.
