Thrive@NC – a program for students who have experienced difficulties at school to learn how to thrive academically and personally – is back, and this time, in-person.
Registration is now open for the weekly sessions – Tuesday’s from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. – which begin May 24 in W112 at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The program is offered by NC’s Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services, encouraging students to build motivation and optimism, increase self-compassion and resilience while learning effective skills such as studying, time management, note-taking, test-taking, and essay writing. At the heart of Thrive@NC is the Five Factor Model of Resilience comprising gratitude, optimism, self-compassion, and grit, with mindfulness at the very core.
The five sessions will be facilitated by NC’s and Jennifer Babin, Counsellor and Emily Appleyard, Learning Strategist.
Students can register for Thrive@NC here.
Students may attend just one session, however they are certainly encouraged to attend all five in the series.
