NC’s Peter “Dutch” VandenBerg was interviewed by Mike Balsom with YourTV Niagara about the College’s role as the official Experiential and Digital Production Partner of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.
During the segment, VandenBerg discusses the scope of work that will be involved in broadcasting live coverage for many of the Games’ competitions and the crew that will be required for such work. He mentions how the partnership will allow for professional development opportunities for college faculty and staff who are involved in the planning stages, and explains how current students and alumni from NC’s Broadcasting – Radio, Television and Film program will be engaged on both sides of the camera to deliver the live coverage.
VandenBerg also highlights the key legacy components that the Games will bring to NC and the Niagara Region, including investments in infrastructure and equipment. He comments, “What excites us is being able to be innovative, trailblazing and inclusive,” which, as he explains further, is the fabric of both the Games and the College.
