Reminder: Virtual #NCTogether Holiday Reception, December 16

All staff and faculty are invited to ring in the holiday season with colleagues and friends at our Virtual #NCTogether Holiday Reception, taking place via Zoom on Wednesday, December 16 at 3:30 p.m.

To join the celebration, please use the Zoom link provided in the Dec. 10 Campus Notice email.

During the reception, President Sean Kennedy will share our new 2020 Year in Review video, highlighting the extraordinary accomplishments of our NC team over this past year. Staff and faculty will also be invited to share in a virtual toast to everyone’s remarkable efforts, so please be sure to have your favourite beverage on hand! NC or holiday attire is encouraged, and we have invited our 2020 retirees to join the celebration to reconnect and share camaraderie.

Upholding our tradition, we will be announcing our NC Cares United Way workplace campaign fundraising total, and most importantly, celebrating what has been a truly collaborative and virtual fundraising effort this year.

We also look forward to wrapping up our #NCTogether Holiday Awards, which will open with a musical monologue by Dr. Marc Nantel, vice president, Research & External Relations. With help from Gary Torraville, associate dean, School of Food and Wine Sciences, and Cindy Andrews, International contract training manager, the top entries for all five award categories will be shared and the winners will be chosen during the event. Based on your feedback, we have opted for a live Zoom poll to determine the winners, rather than choosing at random. That’s right – you get to weigh in on your favourites!

So far, we have received many impressive entries and we look forward to receiving more – we are still looking for our first entry in the “Cheeriest Holiday Song” category. Remember, the winner for each category will receive a $50 gift card for either the NC Teaching Brewery, NC Teaching Winery or NC Teaching Greenhouse.
