In the spirit of the season, NC has launched the #NCTogether Holiday Awards, an opportunity for staff and faculty to participate in festive fun as the holidays approach.

The awards consist of five fun-filled categories that represent a variety of holiday traditions, interests and talents including:

  • Best festive home or college workspace
  • Ugliest holiday sweater
  • Best Instagram worthy seasonal baking
  • Happiest holiday pet
  • Cheeriest holiday song

Award submissions are now open and will be accepted until Monday, December 14 at 4:30 p.m.
Staff and faculty are encouraged to submit an entry for as many categories as they would like but can only submit one entry per category. The winner from each category will receive a $50 gift card for either the NC Teaching Brewery, NC Teaching Winery or NC Teaching Greenhouse.

Learn more about each category and submit your photo or video entries at: niagaracollege.ca/insidenc/nctogether

Save the date for the Virtual #NCTogether Holiday Reception

Staff and faculty are also invited to attend this year’s Virtual #NCTogether Holiday Reception, taking place via Zoom on Wednesday, December 16 at 3:30 p.m. in lieu of the annual President’s Holiday Reception.

During the celebration, featured entries from the #NCTogether Holiday Awards submissions will be shared and winners for each category will be randomly drawn. Gary Torraville, associate dean, School of Food and Wine Sciences, and Cindy Andrews, International contract training manager, who are back by popular demand after hosting Niagara Day, will help spread festive cheer by presenting the awards portion of the reception.

Watch a video message from your #NCTogether Holiday Awards hosts:

“While staff and faculty continue to work hard during what has been a year unlike any other, it’s important for our college community to pause and celebrate the holiday season together, as we close out 2020,” said President Sean Kennedy. “I encourage everyone to set aside time for some fun and camaraderie by participating in our Holiday Awards and Reception.”

Stay tuned for more details, including a Zoom link to be shared via CampusNotice email in the coming weeks. In the meantime, get your award entries in!
