As September approaches, the roadway realignment and parking lot rehabilitation work at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus is nearing completion. Beginning Monday, Aug. 19, crews will begin paving the roadways and parking lots at the rear of the campus.

This will result in a series of rolling lot closures and lane reductions expected to last into the middle of the week of Aug. 26-30. Signage, instructions and traffic control personnel will be onsite to help direct traffic. Please exercise caution and patience when accessing the area.

During phase one of this work, crews will pave the roadways, beginning at the gravel roadways near the Greenhouse and progressing toward the Residence building. Access on the roadways will be maintained, but limited to one lane, with traffic control personnel directing traffic. This may result in traffic delays – please obey directions given by traffic control personnel and give yourself extra time to park when arriving on campus.

Phase two will see rolling parking lot closures as the lots are paved. Crews will start at the north end of the campus, resulting in the closure of lots B4 and B5, while lot B6 will remain open. Pedestrian pathways through lots B4 and B5 will remain open, as will the overflow lot next to the Niagara Corporate Business Centre. Further phases of the paving work will be communicated in the coming week.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this work. Road realignment and parking lot rehabilitation is set to be completed before the start of the Fall 2019 Term, and will increase parking capacity and make better use of the campus space. Any questions can be directed to Brian Hughes, project manager, at ext. 4440.
