This piece in The Toronto Star by Alex Ballingall outlines federal funding – announced on August 16 by Women and Gender Equality Minister Maryam Monsef in Calgary – in support of organizations for men and boys to support the fight for gender equality.
One of the four organizations selected to support the national strategy is Next Gen Men, led by executive director and NC alumnus Jake Stika (Honors Bachelor of Business Administration, 2012). The recipient of $125,000 in funding, Next Gen Men is an organization designed to promote “positive masculinity.” The funding will assist Stika’s organization with building networks of “pro-feminist male leaders” to engage with feminist and women’s groups on gender equality.
