A message from Student Services:
Student Appreciation Day is just around the corner! It will take place on Thursday, January 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses.
This year’s theme is tropical and will be sure to warm students up from the cold and dreary winter weather outside. There will be tiki bars, hula hoop and limbo contests, tons of free food, prizes and the very popular scavenger hunt.
If your department is interested in participating, please contact Dana Brown ([email protected]) by January 18 with your activities planned. An e-mail was sent out in December with fund allocations and marketing deadlines, so please be sure to get your information in on time so it can be shared with students leading up to the event. Marketing materials and ballots will be dropped off to each participating department the week before the event.
Having trouble coming up with ideas? Why not team up with another department to do something big. In the past, departments have joined their budgets to give out free pizza to students, smoothies, and gift card giveaways. International and Engagement, Advising and Career Services in Welland have teamed up to do a tiki bar together in the old cafeteria foyer. The President’s Office in NOTL will be offering delicious Benchmark pizza once again, something students always look forward to. The possibilities are endless!
It’s going to be another great year celebrating our students and their decision to come to Niagara College. Please share with your students and encourage them to participate! A full schedule of activities will be posted on the Facebook event found on Niagara College’s page (@NiagaraCollege).
