A message from Erin Stitt-Cavanagh, PhD, associate dean, School of Technology:

I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Frank DeChellis as professor Electrical Engineering Technology in the School of Technology effective August 15.

Frank has been a member of the Niagara College community, in both academic and student services since 1992. Having delivered courses for both the School of Technology and the School of Trades including Electronics, Electrical Wiring, Digital Electronics, Fiber Optic Communications, Computer Applications, AutoCAD and Introduction to Manufacturing, I am confident that Frank will be an excellent addition to the Electrical Engineering Technology team.

With a keen entrepreneurial spirit, from 1995 to 2015 Frank owned and operated several start-up companies including Internet Access Worldwide/The LearnIT Centre and Innovative Computer Solutions. Frank also worked for Magna International where he was part of a team developing automated assembly lines. In addition to his industrial experience, Frank has been a contributing member of both the Niagara Catholic District School Board and the District School Board of Niagara as an occasional teacher since 2011.

In addition to a diploma from Mohawk College in Computer Electronics Engineering, Frank has also completed the Technological Education Teachers College program at Brock University and is currently finishing a BA at Brock.

Displaying a strong commitment to his local community, Frank has previous experience with the Niagara region in several capacities including chair of the Welland Development Commission, president of BitNet Niagara, municipal councillor for Welland City Council, and regional councillor for the Niagara Region. In addition, Frank is head coach of Niagara College Knights men’s and women’s soccer teams.

Please join me in welcoming Frank as he takes on a full-time role at Niagara College.
