Test Accommodations
Pre-Admission Test Accommodations
Students with disabilities who apply to a Niagara College program requiring a Pre-Admission Test can receive assistance and support. Note that not all programs require a Pre-Admission Test.
- When your College application is processed you will be invited to register to write your Pre-Admission Test (if required). At the end of the Registration Form you will be asked to indicate if you have a disability.
- If “Yes”, you will need to fill out an Accommodation Request Form.
- You will need to provide appropriate documentation (see below) that supports your request as soon as possible (at least 7 days prior to the test). For example, a recent IEP or IPRC stating that you have a disability (learning, physical etc.), a medical or psychological report, a note or letter by specialists or other professionals such as speech pathologist, hearing specialist, optometrist etc. identifying your condition and needs. If you are unsure of the appropriateness of your documentation or need clarification before requesting documentation, please call us: Welland Campus 905-735-2211 ext. 7778, Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus 905-641-2252 ext. 4409, or email us at [email protected].
- After we receive your documentation, you will receive a confirmation email from our office, and the details of the accommodation(s) to be provided for the test. If you do not receive communication from Accessibility Services at least 7 days prior to your test, call us immediately.
Confidentiality
All faxes are received in our office and handled by our staff. All documents, emails, faxes etc. are confidential and kept in our office. They are not viewed by other offices or departments. If you do not attend Niagara College for that admission cycle, the documents will be shredded.

Test Accommodations
The Test Centre at Niagara College provides testing accommodations, including extended time to write tests/exams, a distraction reduced environment, specialized assistive technology for use during tests, etc.
In order to provide test accommodations for a student with a disability, Accessibility Services must provide the Test Centre with a Letter of Accommodation.
