Security
Digital security is a high priority for Niagara College, and we make every effort to ensure our digital security features comply with relevant legislation (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and Personal Health Information Protection Act) and best industry practices.
To prepare for your appointment, here are a few things for you to consider:
- Make sure you’re in a quiet, safe space where you can talk freely.
- Due to the nature of the online environment, sessions may be interrupted by software issues or with internet connections. If a technical issue occurs, you will be contacted as soon as possible, to either resume the session or reschedule the remaining portion of the session.
Privacy
There are things you need to do as well to ensure that your privacy and personal information are protected. These include:
- Use your Niagara College email address for all correspondence with Niagara College staff and faculty.
- Do not send personal information through email (e.g. birth date, SIN). Name and Student Identification Number are OK.
- Use anti-virus and anti-malware software.
- Make sure your web browser and operating system are up-to-date.
