Transfer Credit, Advanced Standing, and Pathways
Transfer Credits are courses that are awarded when a student completes an equivalent course at another institution. These are credited towards the Niagara College credential you are working on and may reduce your study time.
Courses that are completed at other post-secondary institutions that share the same learning content and objectives as those offered at Niagara College are recognized as exemptions (EX).
Courses that are completed at Niagara College sharing the same learning content and objectives as another course at Niagara College are recognized as equivalencies (EQ).
General Questions:
Transfer Credits can be granted if they have been deemed equivalent in both content and learning outcomes by the Academic Area, and the student has met the minimum grade requirement at the source institution as indicated below:
Diploma-level courses: 50% or passing grade at the source institution
Degree-level courses: 60%
Graduate Certificate-level courses: Must be from a graduate level (Masters or Graduate Certificate), and passing grade at source institution.
More details are available in our Admissions & Pathways – Postsecondary Policy.
