Beyond Visibility: A Conversation about Trans Resilience and Hope for Transgender Day of Visibility
March 25 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Join us for a powerful and reflective conversation in recognition of Transgender Day of Visibility (TDoV). This event invites participants to engage with themes of identity, community, resilience, and hope through a guided dialogue with our featured speaker Christina Guevara.
Drawing from lived experience as a trans woman, lifelong 2SLGBTQ+ advocate, and community leader, our guest will explore the transformations she has witnessed and experienced over time. Christina will reflect on what visibility means for trans communities and why it remains an essential force for safety, empowerment, and systemic change. Through thoughtful questions, the discussion with Christina, hosted by Whit Ross, Associate Director, Educational Development, will examine how to balance remembrance, resilience, and hope in advocacy work, and how to hold space for both collective grief and collective joy. The conversation will also highlight practices that sustain community strength, nurture celebration, and support emotional well‑being in the face of ongoing inequities. Participants will hear messages of empowerment for trans individuals today, as well as insights on how to engage in action in their own spheres. This event aims to honour trans experiences, spark meaningful learning and dialogue.
