Labour Relations
You will study the theories and practices involved in labour relations. You will become aware of contemporary employer and employee issues, outcomes related to the collective bargaining process, and the context in which bargaining takes place. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the history of union organization, the key stakeholders involved in collective bargaining, the unionization process, as well as the differences between private and public sector legislation and bargaining. In addition, you will participate in team activities that simulate the collective bargaining process (negotiating a collective agreement) and other dispute resolution mechanisms.
