Language Interpreter - Consecutive
The skills presented in the Language Interpreter - Introduction course will be exercised and developed further here. Techniques to improve memory and comprehension, note taking, vocabulary building and the handling of linguistic and ethical challenges will be covered. Consecutive interpreting exercises are incorporated throughout the course with a view to analyzing and improving practice. NOTE: Fluency (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension) in a foreign language, as well as in English, is a prerequisite for this course. By the completion of this course, students will (at their own expense) have been evaluated using the CILISAT/ILSAT Provincial Test. Successful completion of this test is the prerequisite for the Language Interpreter- Setting Specific course.
