Students interested in careers in law enforcement and fitness can take part in a full lineup of events hosted by NC’s School of Justice and Fitness.

As the Fall 2026 term begins, Niagara College’s School of Justice and Fitness is welcoming students to a full lineup of events and opportunities designed to help them explore careers in law enforcement and fitness.

Throughout the fall, students will have opportunities to connect with industry professionals, hear firsthand about career experiences and ask questions about what it takes to build a career in these fields.

Upcoming events include:

Women in Law Enforcement

On Oct. 20, women from across Niagara College are invited to attend the School of Justice and Fitness’ inaugural Women in Law Enforcement event.

The event will provide students interested in a career in law enforcement with an opportunity to connect with female Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, hear about their career journeys and learn more about their roles and experiences in the field.

Participants will also learn more about the OPP recruitment process, including how to apply, what to expect throughout the process and how to prepare for interviews.

The event is designed to provide an open and welcoming environment where students can ask questions, gain insight into careers in law enforcement and explore the diverse opportunities available within the profession.

Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to try the shuttle run, a standard fitness test used as part of the policing recruitment process.

Law Enforcement Speaker Series

Beginning in October, the School of Justice and Fitness will also launch a speaker series featuring professionals from the fitness and law enforcement fields.

Each session will give students the chance to hear directly from industry professionals about their career journeys, learn about the realities of working in their field and gain practical advice for preparing for a successful career.

Students will also have an opportunity to ask questions and connect with professionals who can share firsthand perspectives on their industries.

Coffee with a Cop

Students looking for a more informal opportunity to connect with a police officer can drop by Coffee with a Cop.

Open to all NC students, the drop-in event is an opportunity to meet with a police officer, ask questions and have a casual conversation about policing and careers in law enforcement.

The initiative also supports the School of Justice and Fitness’ goal of helping normalize positive interactions between police officers and the college community.

Whether students are already considering a career in law enforcement or fitness, or simply curious about what these professions have to offer, the School of Justice and Fitness’ fall events provide opportunities to connect, learn and explore what a career in these fields could look like.
