A Niagara College leader and proud alumna has been recognized among Niagara’s top young professionals.

Held on May 29 at the Holiday Inn in St. Catharines, the award ceremony celebrated the region’s brightest young professionals under the age of 40.
Rebecca Nicholls, Associate Dean of Academic Studies at Niagara College, was recently named one of Niagara’s 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Award recipients. Hosted by Business Link Media Group, the 22nd annual awards ceremony took place on May 29 at the Holiday Inn in St. Catharines.
Nicholls, who graduated from NC’s Human Resources (Co-op) program in 2008, was honoured for her significant contributions to the College community. Throughout her career at NC, she has held various impactful roles including Associate Dean of Workforce Development and Community Programs, Manager of Community Employment Services, Employment and Job Development Advisor, and part-time faculty member.
“I am incredibly honored to be recognized as part of the Forty Under Forty,” said Nicholls. “This award is a reflection of the mentors, colleagues, and students who continue to inspire and challenge me every day. I am especially grateful to those who took the time to nominate me; your belief in my work is truly appreciated. Thank you to Niagara College for shaping my leadership journey and supporting my commitment to meaningful and inclusive work.”
The Niagara 40 Under Forty Business Achievement Awards celebrate the region’s brightest professionals under the age of 40 who are making a meaningful difference in their industries and communities.
Nicholls was one of many from the NC community celebrated this year. NC alumni represented 27.5% of the 2025 award recipients, highlighting the ongoing impact NC grads have across the region. Alumni recipients include:
