Chef Riley Bennett addresses a sold-out dinner crowd at Benchmark during A Chef's Journey.

Chef Professor Riley Bennett was in the spotlight as the latest headliner for A Chef’s Journey.

Held April 24 at Benchmark, the sold-out evening event in the ongoing dinner series highlighted Chef Bennett’s professional journey which began in British Columbia and has taken him to kitchens and classrooms across Canada and around the world.

He was joined by featured NC alumnus Chef Anthony Greco (Culinary Management 2008), Sous Chef at NC’s Benchmark restaurant

Featured alumni for the event also included Hunter Kangas (Winery and Viticulture Technician, 2012), Cellar Master at Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars in the  Okanagan Valley. Select wines from Blue Mountain were chosen to accompany the multi-course meal.s

Culinary and baking students participated in the event, alongside staff from the College’s Benchmark team led by Victor Oliveira and Chef Justin Downes. Two student capstone projects from the College’s Culinary Innovation and Food Technology (Co-op) program were also incorporated into the evening.

Organized by NC’s trailblazing Culinary, Tourism and Beverage Studies division, A Chef’s Journey dinner series debuted at Benchmark in late 2024.
