Announcing the 2024-2025 Employee Professional Development Calendar

NC employees: mark your calendars! The Centre for Organizational Excellence (COE) is thrilled to release the 2024/2025 Professional Development (PD) Calendar for all employees.

This term we are excited to offer a diverse selection of courses aimed at enhancing your professional skills. Participate in engaging sessions such as Fierce Conversations, a new Project Management series, sessions related to your mental and physical health like Establishing a Work/Life Balance and Healthy Sleep, and some Lunch and Learns.

Whether you prefer in-person sessions or the flexibility of hybrid learning, this fall promises enriching opportunities for both part-time and full-time employees.

  • Project Management Introduction
    • Thursday, September 19, 2024, DJP Campus, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Establishing Work/Life Harmony
    • Tuesday, September 24, Virtual, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Fierce Conversations
    • Foundations – Thursday, September 26, Virtual, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Feedback – Thursday, October31, Virtual, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Confront – Thursday, November 14, Virtual, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Foundations, Feedback, & Confront – Thursday, December 5, DJP Campus, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
      • Note: The Fierce Foundations session is a pre-requisite for all other Fierce sessions. If you have previously participated in the Management Success program, you would have completed Foundations as part of that program.
  • Employee and Family Assistance Program
    • Wednesday, October 9, Virtual, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Office Ergonomics
    • Tuesday, October 15, Virtual, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

New calendar format

We are also excited to introduce an enhanced PD calendar format that we hope will make it easier for you to see what’s available. The homepage allows you to quickly see the names, dates and times, audiences and locations of sessions. Please pay attention to the audience to ensure you are registering for sessions applicable to you. Please also keep your eyes on the calendar throughout the term as we will be adding more sessions regularly.
