Student wellbeing, encompassing mental and physical health, has a significant effect on their post-secondary experience at Niagara College, and it is a priority for NC. Feelings related to being respected or included, heard or seen, a member of a social circle, or a participant in an encouraging learning environment – they all have an effect on a student’s wellbeing and success at NC.
Niagara College is very interested in further understanding student wellbeing and encourages students to participate in the 2024 Canadian Campus Wellbeing Survey (CCWS) between March 4-26, 2024.
Student feedback will help inform policies and practices that support student health and wellbeing for current and future NC students.
This 15-20 minute, online survey covers different aspects of student wellbeing, mental health support services, and health behaviors.
A sample of students enrolled in a regular program and 18+ years of age will be invited by email to complete the online survey. Student participation is voluntary and anonymous. All responses are reported only as combined results except comments, which will be anonymized but otherwise reported as submitted.
As a thank you for participating, respondents have an opportunity to enter a draw for a chance to win one of 100 $15 EverythingCard e-gift cards.
The survey is being conducted by NC’s Student Services and Wellness division, with support from Planning and Institutional Research (PaIR).
This survey, centrally administered by the University of British Columbia, provides a coordinated system for collecting health-related data on Canadian post-secondary students. The CCWS aims to increase capacity for linking research with policy and practice at Canadian post-secondary institutions and enable intervention planning, monitoring, and policy alignment.
For questions about this project, please contact Health Wellness & Accessibility Services (HWAS) Directors Karen Csoli (Welland Campus) or Jay Burdon (DJP Campus).
