Niagara College was a key stop along the province-wide College Information Program (CIP) tour on October 16, when approximately 1,100 high school students visited the Welland Campus to explore a college education. This year’s event was the largest-ever CIP stop for NC.
The students, representing 30 local high schools across Niagara, connected with staff and faculty to learn about NC’s 130+ programs and experiential learning opportunities, as well as careers and learning pathways, campus life, student services, financial supports and more.
Representatives from all 24 Ontario colleges were also on site to welcome the students and provide information about their unique programs and services.
“The Niagara CIP stop is one of the largest opportunities for local high-school students to attend an engaging fair style event and explore all of the programs the College has to offer,” said Ian Aikenhead, Director, Student Recruitment.
Aikenhead said the approachable nature of staff, faculty and current students makes the College’s CIP event a great experience for guests.
“Niagara College’s Marketing and Student Recruitment team loves to host this event; to see the campus buzzing with future students chatting with NC representatives and exploring the next step in their educational journey,” he said.
Another key highlight along the tour was the Ontario College Fair, hosted at the Enercare Centre in Toronto, Oct. 18-19. NC was well represented at the event with a large team on hand, who connected with guests to share what makes the NC experience so special. Members from the College’s Executive Team were among those in attendance.
The six-week CIP tour with 37 stops across Ontario began on Sept. 25 and continues until Nov. 2 – quite the journey for NC’s Student Recruitment team.
Immediately following CIP, NC will welcome prospective students to its campuses for Fall Open House on Nov. 4. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both the Welland Campus and the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Visit NC’s Open House website to learn more.
