On Monday, January 26, the series will welcome Chef Marc Lépine, Executive Chef and Owner of Atelier in Ottawa, to NC’s Benchmark Restaurant. A trailblazer in Canada’s culinary landscape, Chef Lépine is renowned for his progressive Indigenous cuisine and his commitment to pushing creative boundaries in the kitchen.
Chef Lépine opened Atelier in 2008, and the restaurant quickly gained national attention after being named one of Canada’s Best New Restaurants by enRoute magazine. He went on to make history as the only chef to win the Canadian Culinary Championship twice, earning the title in 2012 and 2016. In 2018, he was recognized as Canada’s Most Innovative Chef by Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants.
In 2024, Lépine was one of only six Canadian chefs to receive international recognition from The Best Chef Awards, and Atelier was once again named among Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants in 2025.
