Drop-in and asynchronous training also available.
All faculty and staff now have access to the D2L Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS). Brightspace can be accessed through the Niagara College Portal through single sign-on using your college ID and password.
Faculty and staff currently have access to training resources and to a personal content development shell. Migrated course content will be available in early November and additional details will follow.
Asynchronous training resources
Through Brightspace, faculty and staff also now have access to Niagara College’s Brightspace Training Resource course. The asynchronous training resources replicate the foundational training offered during break week while also expanding on some of these topics. Intended to be a self-paced, just-in-time resource that is always available to faculty and staff, the asynchronous training currently includes modules on:
- Creating and Curating Content in Brightspace
- Communication Tools in Brightspace
- Creating Assessments in Brightspace
- Evaluating and Grading in Brightspace
Asynchronous training resources will also be expanded and added to across the rest of the fall 2023 semester and into 2024. Anticipated future resources include:
- Working with migrated course content
- Accessibility
- Intelligent agents
Asynchronous training resources can be accessed from within Brightspace by going to the Brightspace Training Resource course, accessing Brightspace Training Modules in the Table of Contents, and then selecting the appropriate module.
