Nation Talk: Niagara College nominates seven outstanding alumni for 2021 Premier’s Awards

On November 17, Nation Talk, Canada’s premier Aboriginal newswire, shared NC’s release announcing the College’s 2021 Ontario Premier’s Awards nominees.

NC alumna Lora Tisi (Fashion Arts, 1979), was among the nominees this year. Tisi, who was nominated in the Business category, is a board member for the Indigenous Advanced Education Skills Council (IAESC), which works to address the low graduation rate among Indigenous youth. She is also a member of Niagara College’s Board of Governors.

Joining Tisi with nominations were: Aaron Foster (Apprenticeship category), Monique Belair (Community Service category), Mark Suknanan / Priyanka (Creative Arts and Design category), Kevin Smith (Health Science category), Ryan Thorpe (Recent Graduate category) and Wanito Bernadin (Technology category).
