A message from NC’s Centre for Academic Excellence (CAE):
The Centre for Teaching & Learning Innovation at College of the North Atlantic and NC’s Centre for Academic Excellence invite faculty to participate in a pilot coaching series for an opportunity to experience coaching as a ‘coachee’ and to learn how to apply coaching approaches in their teaching.
At the end of the series, participants will walk away with:
- Enhanced awareness of coaching philosophy, related research, and specific coaching approaches;
- Increased awareness about the degree to which they currently apply coach-like practices in their interactions with students;
- Tools and strategies to expand and deepen their coach-approach in the classroom;
- A new community of practice with whom they can share ideas and experiences about the impact of coach-approaches in their classroom;
- A certificate of completion for their professional portfolio.
Funding support for the project is provided by the Educational Developers Caucus (EDC), a constituency of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE).
Space is limited and available to faculty members from each college who expect to be teaching in Fall 2021 and are prepared to commit to the proposed schedule, beginning in March. Registration will close when the number of anticipated registrations has been reached.
