NC’s Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program is celebrating its tenth anniversary and Education News Canada shared NC’s release celebrating the milestone.
The release notes that a decade ago, just months into their studies and just in time for the holiday season, NC’s first class of Brewmaster students launched their first student-crafted beer: First Draft Campus Ale. On December 6, 2010, St. Nicholas Day – as a nod to the patron saint of brewers – they tapped their first keg of First Draft, while on December 10, they bottled it.
The trailblazing program launched in 2010 as the first of its kind in Canada and has since produced more than 360 graduates and over 1,600 different styles of beers. Coupled with NC’s Teaching Brewery, also the first of its kind in the country, NC has found the recipe for success in brewing education.
