After receiving requests from faculty and staff for a new and easy way to schedule appointments with NC students, the ITS team has introduced a tool called Microsoft (MS) Bookings.
MS Bookings is a flexible, web-based appointment scheduling tool available to NC employees with their college network account. The tool is fully customizable and offers a variety of features to help simplify the scheduling process, allowing faculty and staff to connect with students (and colleagues) more efficiently.
Key features include:
- Easy to set up and configure;
- Send appointment confirmation and reminder emails;
- Cancel or reschedule appointments easily;
- Can be used by a single user or by an entire department;
- Microsoft Teams integration for online meetings;
- Automatically syncs to an employee’s Outlook calendar; and
- Create custom fields to collect additional customer information.
How can I access Microsoft Bookings?
MS Bookings can be accessed through the NC Portal. Click on ‘More Applications,’ expand the ‘Microsoft O365’ heading, and click on the ‘MS Bookings’ icon to open the application.
A prompt will appear to search for or add a new ‘business.’ Create your ‘business’ with a meaningful name that has a clear purpose that staff and students will understand (example: User Services – Support Appointments). Choose ‘Colleges and Universities’ in the ‘type’ field and click ‘continue’ to begin customizing your bookings site.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to use the NC logo and colour scheme when configuring their account. When an MS Bookings site is no longer required, please request to have it removed by submitting an ITS Help Desk ticket.
