Niagara College was featured in the CHCH Evening News (see 1:40) segment on April 2 for being among Hamilton and Niagara-area organizations who have made donations of personal protective equipment (PPE) to support the efforts of front-line health care staff in the fight against COVID-19.
NC President Sean Kennedy is interviewed, outlining the many ways NC has stepped up to help.
The segment shows NC staff Katie McQuestion, Campus Safety and Emergency Management coordinator, Pam Skinner, senior vice president, Corporate Services, and Gordon Maretzki, centre manager, Advanced Manufacturing, Niagara College Research & Innovation, loading boxes containing 30,000 PPE that the College is donating to Niagara Health.
The segment also includes staff in NC’s Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre who are producing 7,000 face shields for local health care workers, leveraging laser-cutting technology and computer design programs at the College’s disposal.
