Craig Youdale, NC’s Dean Canadian Food and Wine Institute, appeared on Newstalk 610 CKTB with Matt Holmes to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on students and the quick transition to online studies.
Youdale commends faculty and staff for their creativity and adaptability in taking the in-class curriculum from the last five weeks of the term online in just a matter of days. He explains that many in-person processes and supports were also quickly transitioned to online in order to meet the needs of students. Youdale recognizes the challenge that NC students have faced and cites the virtual activities being offered to keep students engaged outside of the classroom.
He also speaks to the ways that NC is innovating to support the needs of Niagara Health during this trying time, including producing thousands of face shields in the Walker Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre, sanitizer made by the Teaching Distillery, and donating personal protective equipment collected from across the College.
Youdale explains that NC takes pride in supporting the Niagara community.
