CHCH News put Niagara College’s Teaching Brewery in the spotlight, highlighting female students and alumni from the Brewmaster and Brewery Operations Management program for International Women’s Day (March 8). The event was part of a Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day fundraiser.
Students invited attendees to learn about the basics of beer-making from women, who, host Dale Manucdoc notes were the original beer-makers. Students and alumni provide commentary in the hustle and bustle of the Brewery, commenting on the growing female presence the male-dominated brewing industry. Manucdoc sampled a student-brewed peanut-butter chocolate malt beer, and NC’s John Downing comments on the female students he’s taught in the Brewmaster program, and the opportunities for women in craft brewing.
NC students leveraged the event to fundraise to provide female students the opportunity to network at brewing conventions.
