Niagara Now: Local teens test technological skills at district competition Wednesday

Niagara Now featured two local high school students who competed in the 22nd annual District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) Technological Skills Challenge, hosted by Niagara College on February 26.

Joshua Dau, aspiring automotive mechanic, competed in the automotive challenge at the Welland campus for the second year. Katherine Kononyuk leveraged the competition to explore a career in computer science.

The challenges spanned automotive technology, computer coding, advanced manufacturing, hairstyling, baking and the culinary arts, esthetics and more. Finalists from each challenge will be recognized at a Celebration of Excellence held by the school board on June 2 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre.
