It was a full house at 43 Church Street – home to Niagara College’s Community Employment Services – on Oct. 29 for the Small Business Employer Appreciation event.

In honour of Small Business Month, local employers were honoured with refreshments, networking, and thanks from Dan Patterson and senior leadership for their work in the community and for choosing NC to help them hire and train individuals in their organization.

“Small and medium-sized enterprises are becoming the backbone of Niagara’s economy,” said NC President Dan Patterson in his welcome. “I’d like to thank you for helping Niagara College in the work we do. Many of you have been instrumental in the lives of our students and graduates in several different ways,” referring to hiring hundreds of NC graduates and offering experiential learning opportunities to students via internships and apprenticeships.

“Niagara College is happy to support local employers who choose Community Employment Services to hire and train individuals who are making a difference in their organizations,” said Rebecca Nicholls, manager, Community Employment Programs and Services.

Over 40 representatives from dozens of local organizations were in attendance.
