EMA students meet with faculty to discuss the proposed lighting retrofit.

A message from the Office of Sustainability:

Facilities Management Services, and Environmental Management and Assessment (EMA) students at Niagara College are collaborating to expand the lighting retrofit projects on campus.

More than 8,000 LED lighting retrofits have already occurred in the hallways, classrooms, meeting rooms, and the other common spaces throughout both campuses. The initial phase of the project has reduced Niagara College’s energy consumption, resulting in cost savings that are being reinvested in other energy projects. The final stage to completing the lighting retrofit includes changing outdated light bulbs in employee offices.

FMS wants to ensure employees and students are satisfied with the project outcomes. In order to fully understand the current viewpoint of employees, EMA students will be consulting with employees to address any questions pertaining to the proposed lighting retrofit in office spaces.

Employees from both campuses are welcome to use this time to share any comments, concerns or questions about the project, to help ensure a smooth transition to a more sustainable Niagara College.
