Renovations paving the way for new CFWI partnership in Aurora

NC’s Craig Youdale and Jeff Steen were on-hand during the week of January 22 to witness the start of renovations that will see a historic GTA building transformed into a food and wine-lover’s paradise.

Craig Youdale, Dean of NC’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute, and Jeff Steen, Industry Engagement and Corporate Training Manager, joined the Mayor, CAO and councillors from the town of Aurora to celebrate the start of renovations on the Aurora Armoury, which will be home to Leader’s Edge training opportunities provided through the CFWI

In December, Niagara College and the Town of Aurora announced a partnership that will see the CFWI offer short-term training in the culinary, beer and wine industries in heart of downtown Aurora, 30 minutes north of downtown Toronto.

Training will be held in the Aurora Armoury, a municipally owned historical building that is being renovated by the Town to become a new state-of-the-art facility that will include incubator space, a culinary demonstration theatre, a wine and beverage sensory lab, as well as space for community events.

The partnership will deliver the CFWI’s Expert Edge program, which delivers one-time training or part-time instruction to industry professionals and team-building exercises in an intimate and unmatched learning environment. CFWI will also be offering a range of general interest courses and events to citizens and visitors to the area.
