Job-seekers and employers across Niagara have a new way to connect, thanks to Niagara College’s new Employment and Training Solutions website, launched January 16.
The new site, available at niagaracollege.ca/ets offers an easy-to-use job postings board, open to anyone in the community seeking employment. Users can browse current job opportunities and apply for positions directly through the site, without having to create a profile.
Job-seekers can also find and connect with upcoming job fairs across Niagara, as well as training programs and services offered through the College’s Employment and Training Solutions office, located in downtown St. Catharines.
The site offers new functionality for local employers, who can submit job openings and learn about financial support programs that will help offset the costs of hiring and training. Other services available to employers include assistance in matching unemployed clients to job vacancies, resume screenings, recruiting events and utilizing interview space.
“Our goal was to help job-seekers across the Niagara community to connect with employers as easily and seamlessly as possible,” said Clara Fisher, manager of Employment and Training Solutions at Niagara College. “The new site mirrors much of the work we do in-person with job-seekers, and allows those who can’t make it to our office in St. Catharines quick access to many of the same employment supports and resources.”
Funded through Employment Ontario, the office provides walk-in support for job-seekers and employers, including computer access, online and printed resources; training programs and workshops focused on increasing job search and employability skills.
Job-seekers and employers can visit the new site today at niagaracollege.ca/ets.
The Employment and Training Solutions office is open to all Niagara job-seekers at 1 St. Paul Street in St. Catharines, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extended hours on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
