What is a Competitive Program?
Competitive programs are noted on the program listing on the Program Availability page. A program is considered competitive when the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number required to fill the program. Some competitive programs do not accept applications later than the equal consideration date.
Mid-Term Breaks and “7-1-7” Course Delivery
Niagara College follows a 7-1-7 semester schedule. Each term is 15 weeks overall, made up of 7 weeks of instruction, a 1 week break and another 7 weeks of instruction. There is a break between each term. This schedule allows us to deliver your courses consistently, regardless of term or start date.
Some programs have exceptions to this rule—please check the dates calendar for your term for details. Break weeks are marked as Mid-Term Break on the dates calendar. There is no separate exam week. All evaluations are completed by the last day of class.
Some services on-campus may have reduced hours, or may be closed. Keep an eye on NC News and our social media accounts for service hour updates.

Break weeks at Niagara College are also called Reading Weeks.
